WESTMINSTER CATHEDRAL - from Darkness to Light

For Westminster Cathedral regulars this book is self-recommending. Patrick Rogers is a masterly professional researcher who has for some years been writing articles about the building and its history for Oremus, the Cathedral's monthly magazine, and those articles have class written all over them. To have an entire book on the subject by Mr. Rogers is a joy.

There are chapters about the nave floor that never was, the rood, the lights, the clock, the stations of the cross, the pulpit, the missing monkey, a great chunk about the 125 different kinds of marble, a tour of the building, and much more. And of course several chapters about the Cathedral mosaics, including one on The Case of the Scrapped Apse Mosaic.

Highly recommended.
